Having a passion for new and exciting buildings as well as restoring and bringing the old into the 21st century, Stuart has an expansive knowledge of sustainable building design principles, energy efficiency and renewable energy. His desire is to ensure that buildings enhance and stimulate our lives both physically and environmentally.
With a PGCert in Energy & Sustainable Building Design from De Monfort University, Leicester, plus a BSc (HONS) in Environmental Management from Sheffield Hallam University, Stuart is a certified Passivhaus Designer, assessor for Code for Sustainable Homes and IEMA associate member.
Employment history includes working in both the private and public sectors – within sustainability and planning consultancy as well as in local government as an Environmental Planning Officer, notably working on the Sustainable Construction for Schools Policy, which included Kingsmead Primary School, winning a number of Green Apple Awards including a National Gold award.
Also previously self-employed and skilled in construction and building practices, projects include the UNStudio Tower in Amsterdam, as well as refurbishing a Victorian coach house, a Victorian-Tudor lodge and an Edwardian townhouse in England.
